5 Android apps you shouldn’t miss this week – Pro Apps Weekly October
1. Circle Sidebar
Circle Sidebar – An application to make your android experience better, provides easy multitasking from anywhere and anytime! It’s fast and highly customizable. Users can easily customize the way it works and the content it holds. It runs in the background and can be easily accessed from any screen with just a swipe. The user can even set it start at boot.
2. Giphy Cam
iphy Cam is a GIF camera that allows you to make your own GIFs. The app will take several photographs in burst form and string them together to form your GIF. From there, you’ll be able to decorate it with buttons, stickers, filters, and other special effects. As a GIF camera, it’s actually pretty good compared to its competition even if its special effects aren’t that great. It’s a free app with no in-app purchases if you want to give it a shot for yourself.
3. Dan The Man
Dan the Man is the latest game out of Halfbrick Studios, makers of the popular Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride. It’s an action platformer that will have you jumping around, killing bad guys, avoiding obstacles, and taking on tough bosses. You’ll also have weapons and upgradeable attacks, daily events to earn rewards, and plenty of secret areas with extra treasure. It’s a freemium game so there are some pitfalls. However, with the extra game modes and plenty of content, it’s a title that’s worth checking out.
4. Firefox Aurora
Firefox Aurora is essentially the developer channel for Firefox. This app will allow you to check out the newest upcoming features and the latest experimental builds. It works as a browser and you’ll be able to do most of the stuff you usually do on a browser. However, it is experimental which means there will be crashes and hiccups here and there. It’s been around for a while, but it’s now on the Google Play Store in case anybody wants to check it out. Anyone who does should keep in mind that these are not stable builds.
5. Opera Free VPN
Opera released a free VPN service this last week and that’s kind of a big deal. It’s fairly difficult finding a VPN service, let alone one that works as well as this one. Creating a VPN is as easy as pressing a button and Opera includes a Guardian feature that blocks ad trackers from following you around the web. The whole thing is done through an Opera subsidiary called SurfEasy and it really doesn’t take long to learn. Users have expressed a concern about Opera’s logging practices but you can find their policies online if you’re worried.
