Microsoft has made another big push into hardware. At its event in New York on October 26, the company announced a new its first ever All-in-One desktop under the Surface brand. Called Surface Studio, the device takes on Apple Mac. Featuring a impressive design, the Surface Studio comes with accessories like Surface Pen and the new Surface Dial. Microsoft Surface Studio features what is claimed to be the thinnest touch screen LCD display. It is 12.5mm thin, supports 10-point touch and has a resolution of 4500 x 3000 pixels. The display also features a built-in palm rejection function that protects against false touch inputs.

Microsoft Dial Surface Desktop

Microsoft also introduced a new accessory called Studio Dial. The Dial functions as a secondary mouse as well as offers some interactive features. Users can put the round puck-shaped Dial on the PC’s screen and hold it to display a radial menu of tools for different applications.

The processors powering the Surface Studio vary as per the various models. While the $2999 model features Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB RAM, the $3499 and $4199 models feature Intel Core i5 processor + 16GB RAM, and Intel Core i7 processors + 32GB RAM respectively.

Since the Surface Studio is also targeted at photographers and videographers, it requires a powerful GPU. While the $2999 and $3499 model come with Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M 2GB, the premium $4199 variant includes the GeForce GTX 980M 4GB GPU.
Surface Studio is priced at $2999, $3499 and $4199, based on different hardware configurations.
